Bahrain is a small island nation located in the Arabian Gulf. Despite its small size, Bahrain is a vibrant and thriving country with a rich culture and history. One of the most notable aspects of Bahrain is its strong connection to the sport of sailing.
Sailing has a long and storied history in Bahrain, dating back to the time of the ancient Phoenicians. The island’s strategic location at the mouth of the Arabian Gulf has made it an important center for maritime trade and commerce for centuries. Today, Bahrain continues to be a popular destination for sailing enthusiasts from around the world.
One of the most popular sailing events in Bahrain is the annual Bahrain Boat Show International, which brings together boat manufacturers, sailing enthusiasts, and industry professionals from around the world. The event showcases the latest in sailing technology, including state-of-the-art yachts, catamarans, and other watercraft. Bahrain is archipelago of 50 natural islands, and moreover 33 artifical islands which gives the total of 83 islands.
ABDULLA JANAHI
The local hero in Bahrain when it comes to sailing, Abdulla Janahi has participated in many world championships and world events and won four times in a row the Arab championships. Since 2014 he has been training hard in Europe to reach his dream: Paris 2024.
EBRAHIM ALSADEQ
Ebrahim Alsadeq is one of the most experienced sailors on the team, Ebrahim has participated in many yachting events as a helm. He has a bronze medal in the Navy world championship in Brazil. He also won the Kingdom Match race event in Bahrain multiple times.
ABDULAZIZ ALMAHMEED
Abdulaziz Almahmeed is the dynamo of team Bahrain, and he has tremendous experience when it comes to yacht sailing and dingy sailing. He has participated in many offshore racing and inshore racing, too. He is also a professional Marine Pilot.
ABDULRAHIM ALSADEQ
Abdulrahim Alsadeq is the first-ranked sailor in the team, and he also has also been a professional sailor since 2014, where he has participated in many world championships in the laser class. He also won a bronze medal in the navy world championships in Brazil.
The Bahraini SSL Gold Cup squad here to represent the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain high, promises to bring unity and a strong team to show the whole world we can compete at the top level, looking forward to racing against champions and Olympic medalists from all around the world.
